What we do

The supplies that anchor a humanitarian response.

Safad supplies the essential commodities that anchor humanitarian response: food staples in bulk and pre-packed format, hygiene and dignity kits, and protection-related items. These supplies have moved at scale through Safad-managed pipelines, including the WFP Gaza emergency response — 15,357.937 metric tons of food commodities valued at USD 25.54 million.

The platform combines sourcing, quality control, packaging, warehousing and last-mile distribution into one operating chain, with full documentation suitable for institutional procurement and audit. The same chain handles food, hygiene and protection items, which is why these are often procured together.

What we supply

Three categories under one operating chain.

Procured individually or as integrated humanitarian packages — typically combining food, hygiene and protection items into one structured response.

Category 01

Food commodities

Rice, sugar, wheat flour, pulses, oil, tuna, beans, yeast and ready-to-eat rations — sourced in bulk and as pre-packed family food parcels for refugee and crisis-affected populations.

Category 02

Hygiene & dignity kits

Hygiene kits and dignity kits for women, children and vulnerable groups — assembled to specification, with full sourcing and quality documentation.

Category 03

Protection-related items

Protection-related supplies, supplied in coordination with United Nations agencies under specific protection mandates, on a stand-alone basis or as part of integrated humanitarian packages.

Reference points

Where we have done this.

Documented engagements that demonstrate Safad's ability to source, package, warehouse, move and document essential commodities at humanitarian scale.

WFP Gaza commodities

15,357.937 metric tons of food commodities for Gaza, including ready-to-eat rations, fortified wheat flour, tuna, beans, sugar and yeast, at a total value of USD 25.54 million — sourced and consolidated in Egypt and Jordan and moved through the Arish–Rafah corridor.

Multi-year commodity supply

Long-term commodity pipelines for the Syria/Jordan response including wheat flour, bulgur, rice, pulses, oil, sugar and pre-packed rations — delivered under multi-year framework arrangements with the World Food Programme.

Protection-related supplies

Hygiene kits, dignity kits and protection-related items can be supplied as part of integrated humanitarian packages or on a stand-alone basis, in coordination with relevant UN protection mandates.

End-to-end documentation

Every engagement is supported by sourcing records, quality-control documentation, packaging specifications, warehousing logs, distribution manifests and after-action reports — suitable for UN procurement audit and donor reporting.

How we engage

One-off pipeline, multi-year framework, or integrated package.

Commodity engagements can be set up as one-off emergency pipelines, multi-year framework agreements, or integrated packages combining food, hygiene and protection items. Safad can quote on the basis of a defined commodity list, a target population, a geography and a timeline, and proceed on a signed contract or task order.

The engagement is led from the Office of the General Manager, with rapid mobilisation for emergency response and structured mobilisation plans for multi-year commitments. Sourcing, quality, warehousing, transport and last-mile distribution all run on the same operating chain.

The list of items is short. The discipline behind getting them to the right people on time is not.
