What we do

Builds that have to work the day they are handed over.

Safad delivers civil works, prefabricated facilities and mission infrastructure in active operating environments. Our reference project, Dokura Smart Camp in Abyei, is a complete camp build delivered under live mission conditions, covering earthworks, roads, perimeter protection, prefabricated buildings, kitchens, ablutions, electrical and fuel infrastructure, integrated water and sanitation, and a dedicated waste-management yard.

The same engineering capability is available for camp expansions, mission infrastructure, water and environmental works, and reconstruction-relevant builds. Engagements are delivered with project management, scheduling, QA/QC, HSE and handover documentation aligned with UN technical standards.

Reference points

Where we have done this.

Documented camp and mission-infrastructure builds that demonstrate Safad's engineering and construction capability under live mission conditions.

Dokura Smart Camp, Abyei

Battalion Sector Centre HQ project. Project cost USD 4.245 million; commencement May 2021; handover July 2023. Scope: earthworks, road and drainage upgrades, perimeter protection, prefab accommodation and office modules, kitchen and laundry facilities, ablution units, electrical networks, generators, fuel infrastructure, water and sanitation systems, wastewater elements, runoff management, dedicated waste-management yard, and smart monitoring features for camp utilities.

Mission infrastructure

Documented capability for camp houses, accommodation, operational facilities and integrated utility systems in austere environments under live mission conditions — designed and delivered to UN technical and security standards.

Water & environmental works

Boreholes, underground water and sanitation pipe networks, treated and untreated water distribution, irrigation systems, sewage manholes, lift stations, stormwater runoff management, and dedicated waste-management facilities.

Operational integration

Engineering work delivered in close coordination with the camp management and total-site-services capability — so the camp that is being built can be handed over to a single operating counterpart on day one.

How we engage

Defined scope, time-bound contract, certified handover.

Engineering and construction engagements proceed on the basis of a defined scope of works and a time-bound delivery contract. Safad can take responsibility for design, build, commission and handover, and we can also provide construction services within an existing client design.

The Dokura Smart Camp project is a useful template for camp accommodation, mission facilities and integrated utility systems delivered in austere environments under live mission conditions. Engagements are led from the Office of the General Manager and underwritten by IMDAD Total Site Services as the operating delivery vehicle.

A camp is not a drawing. It is a place that has to work the day you hand it over.
